Gaze and Skin — LANGER Space for Photography, Mannheim

Journal · Upcoming exhibition

Come Get Your Honey joins Sarah Ungan’s Ayip! and Ceren Saner’s Can’an in a group exhibition at LANGER Space for Photography, Mannheim, opening 13 May 2026.

In May 2026, Come Get Your Honey travels to Mannheim for Gaze and Skin, a group exhibition at LANGER Space for Photography, opening on 13 May.

The show brings three bodies of work into one room: Sarah Ungan’s Ayip!, Ceren Saner’s Can’an, and mine. Three practices circling related questions from different directions — what a gaze does to a body, what skin conceals and declares, and who gets to decide how a person is seen.

I am glad about the company. All three works come out of long relationships rather than single encounters, and all three treat the people in the pictures as participants in the telling rather than as material for it. Hanging them together turns a shared method into something visible.

Gaze and Skin is curated by Elisa Berdica, Arthur Bauer and Sarah Ungan, and supported by the Kulturamt der Stadt Mannheim.
